Basic Requirements for Fingerprint Technician in Connecticut
- Knowledge of methods and procedures used in fingerprint classification
- Ability to accurately compare fingerprint data
- Ability to maintain criminal and non-criminal fingerprint filing systems
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- One (1) year of experience in the processing or classification of fingerprints is required. Completion of a course in fingerprint classification from a school recognized by the International Association for Identification may be substituted for the General Experience.
In addition to checking of references and of facts stated in the application a thorough background investigation of each candidate may be made before persons are certified for permanent appointment.
Applicants may be required to take a physical examination for appointment to this class. Applicants must have and retain sufficient visual acuity to perform the duties of the class.
Fingerprint Technician Training in Connecticut
Current Latent Print Certification or Tenprint Fingerprint Certification issued by the International Association for Identification will substitute for the required training and experience.
